20 Facts About Little Old Me

Now we all know that I hate to divulge anything about myself, I am indeed a very very private person *cough, cough* but here are some little known facts about me.

(PS, I have pinched some from an ’11 things about me’ nomination I got – Clearly ‘loves shortcuts’ should be number 21….)

I’m 35 years old and a mum of two. I’m clearly a natural magenta red head ๐Ÿ˜‰ I look ten years older than this image, my teeth are less white and my pores are more open.

As well as writing my blog, I am director ofย a creative web solutions & design company alongside my Husband and a keen amateur photographer.

Despite this, I still have absolutely no idea what I want to be when I grow up.

I’m a bit like a fish out of water in business. I love the creative side but paperwork and forecasting makes my capillaries pop.

I used to be quite a bit bigger than I am now.

I piled weight on when pregnant with Niamh and struggled to shift it. I eventually discovered clean eating and it started to go with hard work & perseverance. I can honestly say I’m in better nick that I was before my kids.

I love to exercise. In fact my before and after pictures have just been picked up on Instagram by a Channel 4 researcher that has contacted me for an interview about how HIIT exercise and clean eating has revolutionised health and well being. Can’t wait to show pictures of me in my fat kecks on the telly!

I was a Volunteer Breastfeeding Peer Supporter for the local charity service.

I’m passionate about normalising breastfeeding and if that makes me ‘one of those’ then so be it!

I have been breastfeeding Esme for TWO WHOLE YEARS. I am immensely proud of that. It wasn’t easy but it was and is so rewarding. I’m proud of making that choice, owning that choice and not giving up despite difficulties.

I married my biggest crush.

My husband entertains and infuriates me in equal amounts but it is because I see him as my equal that it seems to work. He’s the smartest asshole I know ๐Ÿ˜‰ I hate that…..and yet I love that.

I have suffered with anxiety & phobias my whole life.

Mainly hypochondria, fear of death & any armageddon type occurences. I would never ever watch anything like ‘2012’ or ‘the day after tomorrow’. (Read more about my head scrambles hereย https://www.thismumbusiness.com/2016/02/not-end-world/)

April 30th 2015 saw the birth of my youngest and a question mark hung over her health and any silly phobias and personal health concerns went out the window – it set my perspective. (https://www.thismumbusiness.com/2016/01/they-dont-make-diamonds-the-same-size-as-coal/)

My favouriteย drink is Coffee – I can’t espress (see what I did there?) how much love I have for this. I think I replaced all of my pre-children vices with this in fact.

I wish I’d named my blog something else as I didn’t realise how many blogs were out there with mum in the flippin’ title.

Out of anything else I do outside of my family, which isn’t much, writing makes me the happiest. I’d love to make a living from it but that bloody Unmumsy Mum got in there first and pissed on my parade ๐Ÿ™‚

This year I grew some balls and packed in my office day job to find the holy grail of life balance. Although I’m now always skint, I’m always skint and mostly at home writing so i’m still a winner.

Albeit a winner that now has to wash her own hair and has eyebrows like Frida Kahlo.

I do some part time hours at the best coffee shop in Wigan, Caffe Rosso (True story – check out Trip Advisor!) working for two of the nicest men in the whole world.

I am super sensitive. A post that I did about negative comments regarding people’s ‘First Day Of School’ pictures went a little crazy. It got over 3.8k likes and was shared over 700 times without being boosted. Despite how amazing this is, I fixated on 3 disparaging comments and became afraid to read the rest.

Ok I haven’t counted but that’s roughly 20 – hope you’ve enjoyed reading.

I’m new to the blogging world and recently did top five facts about me (I am Topfivemum after all… not sure I’d have been creative enough to go to do 20). Anyway, I’m also trying to get back to my pre-pregnancy figure, having piled on the pounds in my pretty much both my back-to-back pregnancies (both kids born 18 months apart). I managed it within 9 months first time around, then got pregnant again. Why do babies make me hate veggies and fish and chicken but love pasta/pesto? Anyway, I’m back in the gym after now my littlest is 5 months and I’m totally into the HIIT approach. I now just need to master the clean eating thing (she says with a g&t sitting next to her). Thanks for sharing some cool facts about yourself. We also suffer from the same affliction of self confidence but I have never done a post that has had that many likes and shares! You rock, you natural magenta redhead you ๐Ÿ˜‰ #thelist

Just stumbled upon your blog – congratulations on your weight loss!! I’m struggling to shift it after my 2nd despite breastfeeding and healthy eating. The wight seems to be piling up and I’m now the heaviest I have ever been. I think HIIT might be the way to go. Love the red hair also! x
